This year, 10 co-productions will have their world premiere. From major international productions with themes like ecology and female autonomy, to a first meeting between two artists admiring each other's work. We list them for you:...<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Dance<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollandfestival.nl\/nl\/welcome-to-asbestos-hall\">Welcome to Asbestos Hall<\/a><\/em>\u00a0by Trajal Harrell and his dancers is a project in which they transform Likeminds into a space for experimentation and development.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>New to the Holland Festival is the HF Lab, which actively involves young people in the festival. This year, 15 young people will work together with <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollandfestival.nl\/nl\/hf-lab-x-degasten-performance-wakka\">DEGASTEN<\/a><\/em>\u00a0create a performance based on Harrell's work.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollandfestival.nl\/nl\/study-for-life\">Study for Life<\/a><\/em>, the collaboration between choreographer Tero Saarinen and Asko|Sch\u00f6nberg to music by Kaija Saariaho, makes everyone move.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Music and musical theatre<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Forty musicians from different cultures are on stage together for the first time with the\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollandfestival.nl\/nl\/atlas-orkest-2025\">Atlas Orchestra<\/a>,\u00a0<\/em>Initiated by Jo\u00ebl Bons.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollandfestival.nl\/nl\/forbidden-echoes\">Forbidden Echoes<\/a><\/em> will have its world premiere, alongside Hani Mojtahedy's existing song cycle, a new work for Ney, Iranian percussion and strings by Nader Adabnejad.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollandfestival.nl\/nl\/one-ocean\">One Ocean<\/a><\/em> is a new project in which artists from Pacific and Indian Ocean islands pay tribute to the resilience of their culture.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollandfestival.nl\/nl\/otemba\">Otemba - Daring Women<\/a><\/em>, the musical theatre performance composed by Misato Mochizuki, is based on the painting Portrait by Pieter Cnoll, <em>Cornelia van Nijenrode, their two daughters Catharina and Hester, the enslaved Surapati and an enslaved woman (Batavia, 1665) by Jacob Coeman<\/em>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollandfestival.nl\/nl\/ring-of-our-time\">Ring of our Time<\/a><\/em>is an epic, ecological story for the 21st century, in which myths, rituals and music of five civilisations meet.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the residency of jazz pianist <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollandfestival.nl\/nl\/craig-taborn\">Craig Taborn<\/a><\/em>\u00a0at the BIMhuis, he will collaborate with local musicians. He will also engage in an improvisational blind date with Trajal Harrell in <em>Welcome to Asbestos Hall<\/em> in which both respond to each other.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Theatre&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollandfestival.nl\/nl\/de-seizoenen\">The seasons<\/a><\/em>\u00a0by Het Nationale Theater directed by Eric de Vroedt is an adaptation of Ali Smith's books about the seasons, nature, Brexit, and the comfort of unexpected encounters.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><div class=\"su-note\"  style=\"border-color:#e5e54c;border-radius:3px;-moz-border-radius:3px;-webkit-border-radius:3px;\"><div class=\"su-note-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\" style=\"background-color:#FFFF66;border-color:#ffffff;color:#333333;border-radius:3px;-moz-border-radius:3px;-webkit-border-radius:3px;\">This year's Holland Festival takes place from 11 to 29 June<\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In minder dan anderhalve maand barst het Holland Festival los op 16 locaties in Amsterdam en 1 in Den Haag.
