May, Utrecht -<\/strong> On Tuesday, May 27, 'd<\/strong>e Order of the Day' can be seen for the first time as a house programme at the Stadsschouwburg Utrecht. Led by Yara Piekema and Ro\u00e1n ten Cate of the NUT, a diverse group of makers offers a unique take on the news with their satirical current affairs show. Fresher from the press, as they make the show within one day! <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

At a time when the news comes at you like a torrent, they filter out the main points and present this in their very own, theatrical way. So the makers' observations form the basis, but the reactions from the audience are the icing on the cake. Think an hour filled with standing ovations, jeers and cheers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A new generation of makers<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In 2010, the successful format 'de Orde van de Dag' (the Order of the Day) sprung from the brains of some socially critical Utrecht theatre makers of the NUT and landed in Stadsschouwburg Utrecht every month. Under the direction of Greg Nottrot, a team of actors, musicians, cabaret artists and writers was put together who each edition shed a surprising light on the strangest news items. Now 'the Order of the Day' is back on familiar ground, but with a new generation of creators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
