The event marks the conclusion of the three-year European research project <a href=\"https:\/\/manage.pressmailings.com\/click\/?id=72596586&amp;url=961827&amp;signature=T8AEl8zqYLVXnIgser7A7QTDFwyQyU3Awy7xpYeKds4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">PREMIERE<\/a> (2022-2025), supported by <em>Horizon Europe<\/em>. With a budget of \u20ac3.9 million, artists, scientists and technologists from six countries explored how XR, VR and AI can reshape the performing arts - from creation and training to live streaming and archiving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As an international company and knowledge centre, ICK played an active role in this partnership. From the <em>ICK Academy<\/em> the company explored how the language of the body connects with digital technologies, and how these new forms can become accessible to artists, students and audiences worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The joint research yielded tangible results:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A <em>3D Virtual Theate<\/em>r, in which performances can be streamed, relived and analysed;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>AI models for <a href=\"https:\/\/manage.pressmailings.com\/click\/?id=72596586&amp;url=961828&amp;signature=XOFuJNq5KGpn-Tj64bxG3HmFepGvTcCEpUztsAGkdtg\">multimodal analysis\u00a0<\/a>of dance and theatre archives<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A<em><a href=\"https:\/\/manage.pressmailings.com\/click\/?id=72596586&amp;url=961829&amp;signature=PTUKS2AmZCPSNDH-ReSeTQ_dBVdTvHr-c3CP7ib7yy0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> AI Toolbox<\/a> <\/em>which translates dance movements into generative sound and image worlds;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Innovative forms of virtual knowledge transfer were tested, including with ICK's own <em>Double Skin\/Double Mind methodology<\/em> - The basis of all of Emio Greco's performances | Pieter C. Scholten.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">THE PROGRAMME OF 'PREMIERE LIVE IN PORTO'<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Re-embodied Machine<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A transdisciplinary performance by Instituto Stocos in which the body acts as an interface, driving music, light and images.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Intuition Machine<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/manage.pressmailings.com\/click\/?id=72596586&amp;url=961830&amp;signature=rVNRLOFL3ZTv6VZ1vMdCI7SsFu_T9c_iNcbOHpSLQBA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">interactive installation <\/a>and performance of <em>ICK Dance Amsterdam<\/em> (Emio Greco | Pieter C. Scholten) with composer Frank Krawczyk. Part of <em>WE, the LUST<\/em>, in which dance is translated into generative sound and image worlds via AI and motion capture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Virtual Theatre Experiment\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Research by the Amsterdam School of the Arts and theatre maker Ulrike Quade, in which VR unlocks new dramaturgical forms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>PREMIERE Documentary &amp; Archive Desk for Performing Arts<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A documentary and innovative digital environment that keeps three years of research and development visible and accessible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With <em>PREMIERE<\/em> ICK Dans Amsterdam shows how its artistic methodology, international cooperation and technological innovation contribute to the future of the performing arts.
