The fellowship
What is offered?
- A five-month stay at NIAS (February 2026 to June 2026)
- Temporary accommodation near NIAS or a travel allowance
- A personal office (not a studio or studio)
- Daily lunch and access to research facilities, including a computer and library services
- A monthly stipend of €3200 for the duration of the fellowship
- Cross-pollination of art and science
The aim of this fellowship is to do an in-depth theoretical study of an artistic project, and then develop it into a final product such as, for example, an essay, film or concept.
The programme aims for artistic and scientific cross-fertilisation, all fellows conduct research at the same time and share their ideas and findings with each other during their fellowship. The results of the research should be made accessible to the public.

Who can apply?
Artists living and working in the Netherlands.
Artists of Dutch nationality living in the Netherlands or abroad.
Members of the Academy of Arts can nominate themselves. Other artists must be nominated by a member of one of the three Akademies (AVK, DJA, KNAW).
