If you work for a municipality or province and/or know the exact measures your government organisation will take in the coming years in the field of culture, we would like to have those figures. It can be done anonymously, of course, if you don't want your exact cuts or investments to be out in the open, and it saves us a lot of hassle (we don't have that much money here either). You can leave your details in the comments, or you can mail them to info@cultureelpersbureau.nl, citing "local figures". And we check them properly, so you don't have to cheat. We will exercise discretion when you want it and anonymise data if necessary.
Notes
That cuts are coming to the arts, we know by now. The central government is cutting the culture budget of OCW by 200 million. If we add to this the VAT measure of 90 million and the abolition of the special unemployment benefit for graduated artists (WWIK), we arrive at 350 million. That is sufficiently clear, we don't need to talk about it anymore. And having already cut 50 million this year, that amount is already in, so we'll really stop talking about that now.
So much more interesting is to know what is to come at the local and regional level. Some municipalities are sparing the arts, others are abolishing them. All this leads to net pictures that can sometimes turn out surprising. So for you and us, the more figures, the better. And since we are in a bit of a hurry, it would be nice if those figures reach us by this weekend at the latest. Will that be possible? Our thanks in advance are enormous.
