Time: Daily from 10:00 - 17:00
Location: Huis Willet-Holthuysen (Herengracht 605, Amsterdam)

Easter egg hunt in House Willet-Holthuysen

9 and 10 April (Easter weekend), 10:00 - 17:00

On the first and second day of Easter, children can search for Easter eggs in a unique place: a 17th-century canal house. Huis Willet-Holthuysen and its historic garden on the Herengracht offers plenty of hiding places. Children can also make beautiful Easter creations and colour in colouring pictures under supervision this weekend.
While the children have fun with Easter activities, their parents and/or supervisors can feast their eyes on the 17th-century canal house.
The Easter programme is free with a valid admission ticket. Children have free entry to Huis Willet-Holthuysen.
Date: Saturday 9 April and Sunday 10 April 2023 (Easter weekend)
Time: 10:00 - 17:00
Location: Huis Willet-Holthuysen (Herengracht 605, Amsterdam)
Admission: Participation is free on presentation of a valid museum admission ticket. Children up to 18 years get free entry.

Short mini-exhibition Nnelg in Studio Panorama at Amsterdam Museum

16 April to 29 April 2023

In collaboration with Amsterdam Zuidoost-born rapper Nnelg (formerly known as Yung Nnelg), the Amsterdam Museum will present a selection of works from his latest album 'I See You' from 16 April to 29 April.
For his new album, Nnelg researched his Ghanaian culture and roots, with self-acceptance as a central theme. Besides an album, Nnelg also translated this into the 13-day mini exhibition 'I See You' at the Amsterdam Museum, where Nnelg shows his own process and personal growth in various works. These include the one-piece only 'Nnelg x ByBorre' on display. The coat, an end product of a collaboration between Nnelg and Byborre (designer Borre Akkersdijk), incorporates Adinkra symbols from Ghana's Asante tribe. Also on display is the fabric from which the jacket is made, in which you can clearly see the postcodes 1103 - 1107 referring to Amsterdam Zuidoost, where Nnelg grew up. Also on display in the exhibition is the short documentary video 'Gye Nyame (Only God)'directed by Ashley Röttjers. The documentary gives visual context to the special collaboration between Nnelg and Byborre. Through the making process, the viewer gains insight into the ideas behind the creation of the fabric for the jacket. Bram Romkes documented part of the making process of writing the songs for the album on Vlieland. A selection from this photo series can also be seen at the Amsterdam Museum.

Studio Panorama

Due to renovation, the Amsterdam Museum has been co-located with Hermitage Amsterdam and Museum van de Geest in Amstel 51 since March 2022 for the next few years. In the Amsterdam wing, the museum presents temporary temporary temporary exhibitions and the permanent collection display Panorama Amsterdam. At the heart of this latter presentation is a platform where contemporary makers, artists, performers and collectives are invited to enter into dialogue with Amsterdam's collection by temporarily presenting their own work or projects, under the name Studio Panorama. Which now includes Nnelg.
Date: 16 April to 29 April 2023
Time: Daily from 10:00 - 17:00

New Narratives tour with Ellen Brudet

Sunday 30 April, 11:30 - 12:30 a.m.

In the New Narratives series, the Amsterdam Museum asks a guest tour guide from outside the museum to reflect on the presentations and collection of the Amsterdam Museum from their own perspective. On Sunday 30 April, Ellen Brudet will take visitors to the Amsterdam Museum on the Amstel through the permanent collection presentation Panorama Amsterdam.
Ellen Brudet is creator and owner of Colourful Goodies, a company through which she brings more diversity to toys and stories. For example, she sells dolls with different skin colours, with skin conditions or that reflect people with disabilities. Dolls that every child can identify with: "We want all children to know that they are wonderful just the way they are and do more than our best to normalise this."
