Privacy statement

The Cultural Press Agency is a cultural news site funded by direct contributions from members/subscribers in the form of membership fees and donations. In addition, the Cultural Press Agency cooperates with organisations in the cultural sector, which may alternately act as clients, media partners or advertisers. The Cultural Press Agency does not exchange personal data between all these parties.

The website Cultureelpersbureau.nl is a wordpress website hosted on a server managed by Reporters Online. The site itself is equipped with all modern safeguards against intrusion, including an SSL certificate, an up-to-date firewall and software that protects against all types of unauthorised access.

The administrative password and management of the website is in the hands of 1 person: Wijbrand Schaap.

Tracking

Cultureelpersbureau.nl uses Google Analytics to monitor website traffic and the popularity of articles. In doing so, we do not store users' private data.

Logged-in members

Subscribing members can use their own login details to access certain parts of the site that are closed to non-members. They can also use their login to manage their own subscription. The software used for registering membership is a 'plug-in' set up on the website itself, developed by Memberpress, which does not otherwise use storage elsewhere.

Membership/subscription

Payments to Culture Press can be made in several ways: directly by bank transfer, after receiving an invoice, or through one of the payment providers we use: Mollie BV for iDeal and SEPA direct debit and Paypal for those who prefer to use credit cards or their paypal account.

For membership registration and administration and we store the data of enrolled members on our own server. We are required to store this data, and it is used only for administration and not shared with other parties.

The Cultureelpersbureau.nl website does not host third-party controlled ads, such as Google ads. Links to books occasionally use 'partner links' with Bol.com. These are the responsibility of Bol.com. No 'cookies' are placed by Bol.com on culturepersbureau.nl.

Members and subscribers receive a newsletter, and so do people who have signed up for a newsletter without a paid subscription. Of those free subscribers, only the e-mail address, and - if they provide it themselves - the first and last name are recorded. The latter data are used to personalise the newsletter.

The administration of the newsletter and management of the address file is done via the plug-in mailchimp. The Cultural Press Agency only takes addresses from people who sign up themselves.

For sending emails, culturalpressbureau.nl uses Sendgrid. This is a special service that ensures transmission reliability and minimises the load on the in-house server.

Our newsletter system allows us to track which emails are opened and which links are clicked. We only use this information to optimise our service and will never share this data with third parties.

Authors

Those registered as authors on Cultureelpersbureau.nl control how much of their information is public. This may include social media profiles, an email address or website. Name details and phone number are not shared. We include those details in articles created by the author, and use profile photos also in the overview of authors given on the relevant overview pages. Anyone who registers as an author agrees to this procedure.

The Cultural Press Bureau does not allow an author to publish under a pseudonym.

Social media

Cultureelpersbureau.nl articles can be shared via social media and email. Cultureelpersbureau.nl does not store any data from these. Any use is the responsibility of the social networking sites involved and the privacy settings the user has made there.

Donations

Users can donate. This does not require private data, other than bank details held in the payment system.
