On Tuesday 3 November 2020, America will go to the polls. TivoliVredenburg in Utrecht presents a live programme around this exciting election. Current measures allow a maximum of 30 visitors in a room. Therefore, a live stream will be set up in four halls, so that as many people as possible can still enjoy it live. For those who just missed out on a ticket, the programme can also be followed at home via the livestream.

follow Election Night via a big-screen livestream. Each 'satellite room' will have its own host, through whom connection will be made to the Great Hall and who will take stock of questions from the audience. Between the blocks of content, there will be appropriate entertainment. TivoliVredenburg had wanted to host around 1,200 visitors who could follow the voting together. That plan kept getting scaled down. But still those interested can follow the elections, either via the livestream or in one of the various halls.
Tessa Hagen, programmer of Knowledge and Debate at TivoliVredenburg: "As soon as we knew we could only host 30 people per room, we started thinking about what could be done. Inspired by Arjen Lubach, we came up with this construction: an exciting experiment! Our stream team is well up to speed, so interaction between all the rooms via video links is no problem. This way, we will make it an election night to remember in all the halls!"

From the Great Hall, scholars, journalists and campaigners analyse this much-discussed election. What is the situation in the different swing states? Which themes are most alive among voters? How is the country doing after four years of Trump? And what do the new president's plans look like?
