Every year, TivoliVredenburg bursts at the seams on New Year's Eve. Party and fireworks in all halls at eye level from the large courtyard 40 metres high - but this year the doors remain closed. Therefore, TivoliVredenburg presents an alternative New Year's Eve programme online to end 2020 well after all: NYE - The Home Show.
Michiel Peeters, night programme programmer at TivoliVredenburg: 'With The Home Show, we want to provide our visitors with a cool programme, wherever or with whoever they are. TivoliVredenburg is a place that connects people. If that's not possible in real life, we do it virtually. A moment like New Year's Eve, especially after a bizarre year like this, is then extra important'.
The Home Show is offered free thanks to sponsorship from partner Bud. The programme consists of a quiz and a DJ set with matching visuals. Quizmaster Dzifa Kusenuh will present five rounds covering the most bizarre, hilarious and noteworthy highs and lows of the past year. The best teams will, of course, win prizes. After the quiz, DJ St. Paul and VJ Switchdoctor will fill the living rooms with the best music and cool images from the past decade.
Earlier, TivoliVredenburg announced that it would also present an online programme on Christmas Eve: The New Night Mass. A secular programme full of music, theatre and reflection.
