Female Gaze Tour
12 February 2023
The returning Female Gaze Tour will be filled by Tammie Schoots. Tammie Schoots is a writer and freelance journalist. She has published articles with Trouw and Linda Meiden, among others, and is a frequently requested guest on BNR NieuwsRadio and Radio 1. Besides her journalistic work, she writes and speaks a lot about personal experiences as a transgender woman. Always with a philosophical touch, in order to reflect on the emancipation and inclusion of transgender people. In this tour, she reflects on the many women in the art world who have often not received the attention they deserve in the past. Tammie Schoots gives her perspective on the permanent exhibition Panorama Amsterdam at the Amsterdam Museum aan de Amstel.
In Panorama Amsterdam, the Amsterdam Museum shows the city in all its facets. Which characteristics typify Amsterdam par excellence? And have they always been there? How will the city continue to develop? By connecting stories from the past, the present and the future, a broad panorama of the city emerges. Amsterdam in all its dimensions.
Time: 11:30 - 12:30 a.m.
Location: Amsterdam Museum aan de Amstel (Amstel 51, Amsterdam).
Admission: Free on presentation of museum admission ticket. Capacity 15 people.

New Narratives Tour
26 February 2023
Darwin Winklaar is a fashion designer and multidisciplinary artist and will reflect on Rita Maasdamme's exhibition and artistic work during this New Narratives Tour. With the New Narratives series, we ask guest tour guides from outside the museum to reflect on the Amsterdam Museum's presentations and collection. Which stories about the city are told in the museum, which stories remain invisible, and which stories should not be missing?
The collection of dioramas by Rita Maasdamme (1944-2016) uniquely tells the histories of the Dutch former colonies from the perspective of enslaved people, Maroons and indigenous people.
Time: 11:30am to 12:30pm.
Location: The Amsterdam Museum on the Amstel (Amstel 51, Amsterdam)
Location: Amstel 51
