  • Chiara Tissen receives €1,760 to work with theatre group Suburbia on the rehearsals and editing of the play she translated Tom à la fermeby Michel Marc Bouchard. The play will be performed 30 times in the summer of 2023.
  • Floor Tinga and Milouska Meulens receive €7,000 for the creation of The great Caribbean storybook, to be published by publishing house Querido. The stipend is intended for the authors of the planned 14 short stories.

Choice process

In nominating the winners to the Author Prizes Foundation, the jury considered, among other things, the possibilities of carrying out the projects. Budget transparency also played an important role. Furthermore, the jury considered the fund's namesake, who had so much affinity with literature, with the translation profession and with art in general.

About the Thérèse Cornips Stipendium

Translator Thérèse Cornips (1926-2016) included in her will a wish to establish the Thérèse Cornips Foundation. Her bequeathed assets were to be used to support literary writers and translators. To this end, her assets were largely placed with the Author Prizes Foundation. In line with its namesake's intentions, this fund has made one or more stipends available every year since 2020.
