On 29 September 2023, at Theatre Kikker in Utrecht The latest Alum show Boudica premiere. Actor Jilles In this production, Flinterman tells the story of Boudica, the Celtic Queen and Iron Age Warrior Queen, who remains to this day today is seen as a symbol of female rage.

Actor and husband Jilles Filnterman continues this tradition, bringing the story of Boudica together with its projector to life. Supported by illustrations, sound fragments and acting by Flinterman come we more about this Iron Age Warrior Queen to know.

About Boudica

Boudica was a military leader who managed an army of more than 100,000 men mobilise against Roman occupation. She was an avenger of sexual violence, an demolisher of the patriarchaat and a bringer of justice. Driven by pain and anger, Boudica refused to be ruled by a foreign, male intruder. The some historical sources about her its derived from two Roman historians, Tacitus and Cassius Dio.

Boudica is not only a story about feminism, revenge and misogyny, but it touches on also to themes such as the Brexit and druids. All this is told in a compelling way By Jilles Flinterman, assisted by his projector, who takes the audience along in the story of this powerful queen.

The premiere of Boudica promises to be a unique theatrical experience, in which the strength and fighting spirit of a forgotten heroine are highlighted in a compelling way.

Boudica can be seen at Theatre Kikker on 28,29 and 30 September and then goes on tour.
