Frog Chooses today's best theatre

Utrecht - On Tuesday 12 to Thursday 21 September, Theatre Kikker will open the new theatre season with Kikker Kiest. The best performances of the past season return to the theatre on the Ganzenmarkt in Utrecht. A mix of important performances that enrich your view of the world. Themes such as strength and vulnerability, domestic violence, the abolition of slavery and sexist labels are covered.Theatre in the container

During the eleven-day theatre festival, several performances are on the menu. Not only in the halls of Theatre Kikker; the Stadhuisplein will also be transformed into a play venue. In a glass container, the Utrecht company Club Lam plays the show Vote. A performance about the first woman in the Netherlands who actively exercised her right to vote. You will experience this extraordinary story with silent disco headphones.

Award-winning performances

That Kikker Kiest has selected today's best theatre is underlined by the critics. This year, for example, Urmie Plein for her role in I say sorry anyway and Eelco Smits for his role in History of Violence nominated as best actor and actress. Young creator Merel Severs, who during Kikker Kiest with her performance Try Not To Know What You Know to be seen, has a chance to win a theatre award.
