Celebrate the importance and enjoyment of contemporary music and today's composers during Composer's Day

At Night Shift - The Rehearsal by Cathy Milliken, the audience playfully becomes co-makers and players. Together with musicians, choir, soloists and conductor, they create a world where the boundaries between them blur.

Midsummer Night's Dream as inspiration

Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's Dream constitutes the starting point of Night Shift. In it, artisans, a group of amateur actors, come together to rehearse a play. From this fact, a play within a play, the idea for Night Shift: a public rehearsal used to develop a performance unique to each place, time or presentation.

Participate

Composer Cathy Milliken invites everyone to be curious and participate during the Day of the Composer. Because how fun and exciting it is to actively participate as a visitor and thus contribute, together with the musicians, to the final result.
It is FREE with ticket! Sign up: Stadsschouwburg Nijmegen and Concertgebouw De Vereeniging (stadsschouwburgendevereeniging.nl)
The programme starts with a 20-minute joint rehearsal, after a break the concert will start, lasting about 40 minutes.
