From 17 October to 21 December tours Blood sister - Same and different in everything across the country. Top actresses Wendell Jaspers and Lotte Dunselman, on stage together for the first time, play identical twins in this sharp, humorous and musical performance by MATZER Theatre Productions. The text is by Maaike Bergstra, Madeleine Matzer directs. The premiere is Saturday 19 October at De Verkadefabriek, Den Bosch.

If two people are genetically identical and look like two peas in a pod until puberty, what about their inner worlds? How can an initially close two-man collective grow into two totally opposite individuals who can drink each other's blood? Blood sister is a sharp, humorous and musical performance. A search for the origins of separation in close relationships. In her latest performance as artistic director, director Madeleine Matzer delves into her fascination with the different versions we have in us as human beings. With the ultimate example of identical twins with the same DNA but completely different identities.

After 17 years without contact, Stella visits Tara to offer her help. Tara is seriously ill and, as a twin sister, Stella is the only one who can help her. But there is a lot of old hurt that simmers under the surface; emotions that have been waiting all these years for this reunion. Tara does not want to fall into old role patterns. Moreover, she has hidden something from Stella that she will probably find hard to forgive her. And what does Stella really want to achieve with her sacrifice? Is she coming back to give or to get? The identical twins mirror each other's true desire and expose subcutaneous motives in a blood-curdling dialogue that will have you on the edge of your seat from A to Z.

'You can't look at her and know me, you can't look at her and know who I am.' The text of Blood sister - Same and different in everything was written by Maaike Bergstra. Madeleine Matzer directs top actresses Lotte Dunselman and Wendell Jaspers, who play together for the first time in this show. The music is composed and performed by Helge Slikker and the stage design is by Sanne Danz.
