As every year, the Holland Festival previews and teasers of productions in the window of The Beehive, at the corner of Dam and Damrak. This year will be no different. Or will it?
In the mail the following note from De Bijenkorf to the Holland Festival:
Hai xxxx,
We have just received word from the council that the drill for the NZ line will go under the Beehive from next Thursday. It has been agreed that the shop windows will be taped with adhesive film. This is to protect the public, if the shop windows fall down. This stretch lasts for three weeks and starts at the fair entrance. You will probably not be bothered by it and the corner gallery will just be clearly visible, but it is therefore possible that the corner gallery will also be taped off on the last day. This has the effect of slightly reducing visibility. I don't expect you guys to be bothered by it, but I want it reported.
Greetings,
XXXXX
The effect will probably be that of sunglasses. Especially if they start plastering the shop window from the inside too, to protect the artists on the inside from shards of glass. For those wanting to make NZ line jokes about pink glasses, the comments are open.
