Today we posted this message, and quickly realised that the news had been released before. Only a few minutes later it dawned on us that the original post, of which this is a free translation, had already appeared on The Independent's site on 22 October 1995. Due to a database update and an observant site visitor who didn't look at the date, the message was made as news and countless websites of art haters and lovers took it up. So did we...
