Boudewijn Koole receives European film award for Kauwboy

Nice of course that Amour by Michael Haneke was not only crowned best film at the European Film Awards ceremony in Malta last night, but also received the director's prize and prizes for best actor and actress. But a bit boring is starting to become this paean to Haneke's latest. Enough of this, then.

Onvervalst trots blijven we echter als Nederlanders op het aanhoudende succes van Chewboy, nu bij de European Film Awards onderscheiden met de Prix FIPRESCI voor European Discovery 2012. Dat mag inmiddels een ware zegetocht genoemd worden voor regisseur Boudewijn Koole.

We zetten het nog even op een rij:

18 februari, Filmfestival Berlijn – Grand Prix Deutsches Kinderhilfswerk voor beste jeugdfilm, en tevens Best First Feature Award voor beste debuutfilm van het festival.

18 april, Filmfestival van Saint-Quentin – Vakjuryprijs Prix de la ville de Saint-Quentin.

22 april, Internationaal Filmfestival van Buenos Aires – Unicef-prijs.

28 april, Kristiansand International Children’s Film Festival – ECFA Award (juryprijs voor beste Europese jeugdfilm) en de Film & Kino Award, een prijs om Chewboy in de Noorse bioscopen uit te brengen.

10 juni – Winnaar eerste European Film Academy Young Audience Award (verkozen door jeugdjury in Amsterdam, Belgrado, Kopenhagen, Erfurt, Norrköping en Turijn).

16 juni, Brussels Film Festival – Fedex Cinephile Award toegekend door jongerenjury.

28 september, Nederlands Film Festival – Zilveren Krulstaart voor Beste Scenario 2012 (samen met Overspel and Lang zal ze leven).

5 oktober, Nederlands Film Festival – Prijs van de Nederlandse Filmkritiek.

Chewboy is ook de Nederlandse Oscarkandidaat.
