It's party time in Europe. And a bit here. Europe is increasing spending on culture. By less than first intended, but still. Cheers for the new year. A word of warning, though: you need three staff to manage an application.
We'll just give the whole press release.
Over the past two weeks, the European Commission has published the first calls of the Creative Europe Programme (2014-2020): four for the Culture sub-programme and 13 for the MEDIA (audiovisual) sub-programme.
With a budget of almost €1.46 billion over the next seven years (9% more than the current programmes), Creative Europe offers cinemas, television, culture, music, performing arts, heritage and related sectors the opportunity to increase international visibility in Europe and beyond. The new grant programme formally became a reality on 21 December 2013.
Within the Culture sub-programme, there are four programme lines for which applications can be submitted. A call is now open for all actions, with a deadline in March 2014:
- European cooperation projects (deadline 5 March 2014)
- European networks (deadline 19 March 2014)
- European platforms (deadline 19 March 2014)
- Literary translation projects (deadline 12 March 2014)
