The winners of the Dans Publieksprijs 2013 have been announced. On Friday 14 February, the prizes, divided into seven categories, will be awarded at The Hague's Theater aan het Spui. Besides winners Pascal Schut (Introdans) and Davide Cocchiara (The Red Piece), they are choreographers Conny Jansen Danst for the performance 'How Long is Now' and Isabelle Beernaert for the performance 'Red, Yellow & Blue'.
Conny Janssen is further awarded the Oeuvre Prize for her influence on Dutch dance. The dance press chose 'Le Chat Noir' by Scapino Ballet Rotterdam as best performance of 2013. Truus Bronkhorst receives an honourable mention from the dance audience partly because of her double nomination.

The Dans Publieksprijs is organised by the website Danspubliek.nl in collaboration with Cultuurpers and is possible thanks to training institute de Baak and NTR Podium. Through an open registration, spectators could nominate dancers and performances, after which a follow-up round was used to vote for the final winners. This year is the third time the award has been presented. Previous winners were: Isabelle Beernaert (Choreography 2012) and Nina Plantefèvre-Castryck (Dancer 2012). In 2011, the award went to dancer Meysam and choreographer Vraja Sundari Keilman.
The Dans Publieksprijs 2013, an award signed by choreographers Hans van Manen and Jirí Kylián, will be presented to the winners on Friday 14 February at Theater aan het Spui in The Hague. This will take place after the performance Rotunda by the New Zealand Dance Company at the Holland Dance Festival.
