Mosquito with the gold tooth is a quirky Amsterdam-based theatre company that has been making successful theatre and occasional television for more than 30 years. The group creates new Dutch repertoire that describes the spirit of the times with a personal voice. De Mug produces about four performances a year, including an ambitious European project in 2020. De Mug is subsidised for several years (planning period until 2021) by the municipality of Amsterdam and the Performing Arts Fund.
Due to the imminent departure of the current business leader, mugmetdegoudentand is looking for a business leader (m/f) from 1 January 2019.
Profile
The business leader is responsible for financial management, conducts the management of the institution and maintains contacts with cooperation partners, cultural institutions, governments and sponsors for this purpose. The business manager also draws up the annual budget, reports to the board and monitors progress.
Together with the general director/artistic director, the business leader is jointly responsible for developing medium-term plans - productions and operations.
Qualifications required
- The business leader has strategic insight and is communicative.
- He/she is proficient in writing, obviously also in English.
- He/she is administratively sensitive and operates from an effective network in the performing arts.
- He/she masters the financial aspects (tax, operations, reporting, fundraising, reporting) of a small dynamic arts organisation.
- He/she knows his/her way for the interests of the Mug collegially and independently.
- Affinity with theatre in general is a must and affinity with the Mug's performances is a plus.
