Dance performance Uniform by creator Nastaran Razawi Khorasani, a huge success at Oerol 2018, will be remade. The performance will be re-created, premiere on Saturday 15 February 2020 at Maaspodium, Rotterdam and tour the Netherlands until 10 April 2020. Uniform is a dance performance about the desire for commonality, an ode to the follower.

What is the power of the collective in this age of individualism and self-indulgence? Fascinated by the phenomenon of folk dancing, Nastaran Razawi Khorasani wonders in this dance performance how today's human beings give form and substance to feelings of belonging. Four individuals make an attempt to shed their own identity and merge into the masses. The everyday actions of the four slowly flow into a folk dance. Will they manage to forget themselves?
Fighting for the greater good
Nastaran Razawi Khorasani on Uniform: "I have a great love for folk dancing, I did it as a child. I love the synchronicity of it. Further, folk dancing for me represents the collective. You have to stay in step, there is little room for the individual. I've come to link that to my desire to smear away the ego, to become detached from your individuality. I feel that this theme is currently appealing to young people and adults more than ever. At the environmental protests in the Netherlands, you see all young people fighting for a bigger picture. Like the students in Hong Kong and, since a week, groups of young people in Iran taking to the streets to demonstrate. That came together with what we are talking about in the performance, about the need to let go of individual happiness and fight for the bigger picture, for collective happiness."
