The Cultural and Creative Sector Taskforce calls on the cabinet to coherent policy conduct in relation to the various sectors and assumes that:
- as commercial flow-through venues (such as the Bijenkorf) reopen, cultural flow-through venues such as museums, monuments and presentation institutions may also open their doors.
- Now that indoor sports are possible again, active arts and culture are also possible again. Like sports, these provide good mental health and resilience, thus contributing to people's well-being and wellbeing.
- now that education is already open and cultural education in schools as an educational activity is already possible again since Monday 10 January, cultural education that takes place on location, such as at centres for the arts, music schools and folk universities, can also reopen.
The Cultural and creative sector task force did the cabinet last night in a press releasecalled for an approach where the basic policy reflex no longer needs to be 'close', but 'stay safely open'. Predictable and insightful corona measures are necessary, where it is clear at which risk stages which measures kick in. A direct link is also necessary between corona measures and financial support to all links in the cultural chain: organisations as well as makers/zpp'ers.
Everyone craves escape from this pandemic: cultural organisations, staff and volunteers are ready to welcome back their audiences!
Ann Demeester put it perfectly: NL seems to be a country full of things and bodies, but what about soul, mind and emotions?
