Theatre Kikker is 50 and that deserves a celebration! For audiences, makers and for everyone from the city who does not yet know Theater Kikker very well. From Saturday 1 to Sunday 9 October 2022, Utrecht will be treated to theatrical explosions, pop-up performances, out-of-the-box work and epic DJs. It will be a week of partying with a touch of nostalgia, a hefty dose of here and now, and a generous helping of the future. Because moving with the times and experimenting is what Kikker does best and what has kept the Utrecht theatre young and relevant for 50 years.

50 hours of non-stop theatre and playgrounds in the city

What to expect? From 1 to 9 October, Kikker will be playing outside and calling three 'playgrounds' into being. Public places in the city where there will be play for you. You can visit the playgrounds for free or bump into them by accident. They are sure to be surprising encounters. As a cracking finale, the week will end with 50 hours of non-stop theatre from Friday 7 to Sunday 9 October. 50 hours covering everything that has ever been done and theatre ever wants to do again.

First names known

50 Hours of Frog is divided into different time slots. So everyone can join this party in the 'vibe' that suits you. After a smashing opening, Friday evening is for dialogue about the future of theatre, while Saturday morning is for the youth with Het NUT, among others. Saturday afternoon you will experience the ultimate theatre mix of well-known names and new talent in all corners of the theatre with, among others, the Theatre Troupe, DOX and dance company SHIFFT. As night falls, the tempo speeds up and you dive into the night with rousing performances by Connor Schumacher and others, followed by dancing to the beats of DJ duo CHAMOS. On Sunday morning, there is time for a bit of nostalgia and future with Theatre Group Alum, Bambie and work by HKU students to enter the final hours of Fast Forward on Sunday afternoon with Club Lam and Compagnie Red, Yellow & Blue.
