After international premieres in Lugano (Switzerland) and recently as the opening of the Romaeuropa festival in Italy, We Want it All can now be seen at the 5th edition of the ICK-Fest at Meervaart theatre.

On Saturday 29 October | 9pm, We Want it All will have its Dutch premiere at the festival.

WE WANT IT ALL

In a festive anniversary performance, Emio Greco | Pieter C. Scholten explore what "end" really means, beyond climax, catharsis or apotheosis. By stringing together performance endings from across their oeuvre, the question posed by the past becomes prominent: How to proceed?

In We Want It All, the junior company ICK-Next has a prominent role. She is the prelude to new times. Thanks to these young dancers, there is always a new perspective. They claim hope, and the need for change.

During this special festival edition, ICK Amsterdam presents two more titillating premieres:

On Friday (sold out) and Sunday, PAST, PRESENT, ZERO, an "Urban Contemporary" performance by Denden Karadeniz, and on Saturday, dance theatre performance CONCERTO FISICO PER AZIONE by Italian choreographer Michela Lucenti will premiere.

For three days you will find pop-ups, exhibitions and workshops at the Meervaart where you can stretch your legs for a while, in addition to these special performances.

PROGRAMME ICK-FEST #5

PAST, PRESENT, ZERO - Friday 28 October | 8.30pm

The festival kicks off with premiere by Denden Karadeniz with his Zero Dance Theatre. Karadeniz fuses breakdance with contemporary dance in "Urban Contemporary". This performance examines past, present and future for their connection.

CONCERTO FISICO PER AZIONE - Saturday 29 October | 7pm

Italian choreographer Michela Lucenti also considers past and future with her Balletto Civile. The "greatest hits" of her work pass by in a journey through the past.

WE WANT IT ALL- Saturday 29 October | 9pm

In a festive anniversary performance, Emio Greco | Pieter C. Scholten explore what "end" really means, beyond climax, catharsis or apotheosis. By stringing together performance endings from across their oeuvre, the question posed by the past becomes prominent: How next?

Also on Sunday 30 October, the performance PAST, PRESENT, ZERO can still be seen, also on that day you can attend a teaser of Michela Lucenti's new performance, DAVIDSON, which will premiere at ICK-Fest 2023.

ROLLING PROGRAMME

Throughout the festival, the video installation ART + CARE, the exhibition Double Points: REMAINS - NERO, and the photography of Alwin Poiana.

ART + CARE

is a multi-year trajectory of the ICK Academy that highlights the relationship between art and care. French/Vietnamese choreographer Eric Minh Cuong Castaing created the performance Forme(s) de Vie in which dancers from the Shonen company discover the magic of movement together with people with reduced mobility. Fragments from workshops, the performance and a commentary by the maker can be seen in this ART + CARE installation.

Double Points: Remains - NERO

This exhibition consists of costumes from the performance Conjunto Di Nero (2001) by Emio Greco | Pieter C. Scholten. Each dress forms a unique "print" of the performance. The texture and silhouette of the individual costumes are transformed through use, as a result of physical contact with the dancers' skin. The reaction of sweat on the coarsely woven mohair fabric from which the dresses are made has created extravagant sculptures in which the body no longer has a place.

Photo installation Alwin Poiana

Alwin Poiana has been ICK's in-house photographer since 2013, shooting the performances, portraits of the dancers and campaign images. With his quirky and raw style, he manages to capture the essence of the body and the person behind it with sharpness. In his still images, the body continues to breathe visibly. Especially for ICK-Fest, he presents some of his favourite works from this season.
