ROTTERDAM - On Wednesday 18 October at 16:30, the kids of the Maaspodium can be followed via livestream as they give a look before and behind the scenes at various theatres throughout the Netherlands, kicking off the first ever National Children's Theatre Week. Together with presenter Tirsa With, they will show how much fun theatre is!
As a new initiative of the National Theatre Fund, the first National Children's Theatre Week will take place in over sixty theatres in the Netherlands from 18 to 25 October 2023. Whereas children's and youth performances are often already programmed during this week, this time the entire theatre will be dedicated to children. To show the magic of theatre! Various extra activities are organised in front of and behind the scenes, which are free to visit.
FESTIVE OPENING MAASPODIUM
On Wednesday 18 October, Maas theatre and dance, the Netherlands' largest youth theatre company, has the honour of hosting the festive opening of the National Children's Theatre Week at the Maaspodium in Rotterdam. And it can also be followed online for children from all over the country. Presenter Tirsa With, of Het Klokhuis among others, Albert Verlinde, the Podiumkids and the children of Maas will tell about the giant Children's Theatre Week and why they love theatre so much. We also peek into theatres across the country to see how things are going there. But whether that goes completely well...?
National Children's Theatre Week is made possible thanks to the National Theatre Fund and the Prince Bernhard Culture Fund in cooperation with the Association of Free Theatre Producers and Podiumkids.
