With temperatures above 25 degrees, it will be a sweltering but also unique summer day, that 10th September. The Cultural Press Agency is present on that day with four journalists at the former Air Base Soesterberg to report on festival The Base. When you get there, you'll experience a lot of nature, even more impressive war history and a piece or two of theatre performances and visual arts events. In old sheds, shelters and bunkers, newly, or not yet, graduated makers from Maastrichtand Utrecht took inspiration from the Netherlands' former biggest blur on Google Earth.
We will be there to report via a liveblog. Reports will start trickling in here from around 11 o'clock, so that if you have unexpectedly chosen to queue up in the traffic jam to the beach, or are trudging through a scorching hot city centre, you will still be kept up to date with what is happening on this piece of new nature in central Holland.
