Not just Kunststof TV, NTR Podium is also ending. Long live Podium Witteman.

NTR Podium: the television programme about music and dance, is calling it quits. Tonight is the last broadcast with the Harmonium by John Adams by the Residentie Orkest. In 2015, NTR Podium gives way to the new Podium Witteman. This will be mainly about classical music and jazz.

NTR's other culture programme, the live talk show Kunststof TV stopped recently. Presenter Joost Karhof was there not agree. Because it was well-watched. But NPO decided the programme had to make way for renewal. Now it appears that NTR Podium, too, will have to make way for the new format with Paul Witteman.

How dance will take further shape at NTR is still unclear. NTR Podium provided dance coverage such as the Nederlandse Dansdagen and had plans to do more with it in the recent past. It was not to be. In any case, the series Point Taken stand.

Podium Witteman can be seen live on NPO 2 on Sunday afternoon at 5.10pm:

'Podium Witteman will be presenter Paul Witteman's weekly musical feast. Together with house pianist/cabaret artist Mike Boddé and musical spider in the web Floris Kortie, he will receive guests with special stories, as well as space for young talent and live performances by top musicians.

Podium Witteman embraces the world of classical music but also explores the boundaries with other genres such as pop, jazz, or world music. In the weekly column theShuffle Mike Boddé will join an ensemble on an adventure through 400 years of music history.

The programme is broadcast live from the brand-new De Hallen studio in Amsterdam-West. Podium Witteman offers a stage to ensembles, orchestras, and soloists every week. The programme is open to the public free of charge.'
