New image for the King with some help from music & Ottolenghi

Majesty, Dear Willem Alexander,

Last year at the King's Day concert, one of my favourite musicians played: violinist and composer Oene van Geel. For the occasion, his band played zapp4 together with a musician from my old world: recorder player Walter van Hauwe. In addition, surprising programming with David Kweksilber Big Band, leading lady Claron McFadden, tap dancer Peter Kuit and more. Great musicians with a sense of adventure. Musicians who do not allow themselves to be pigeonholed.

Until recently, I did push you into a musical pigeonhole. When I thought of you, I mainly heard DJ Armin van Buuren. Fitted perfectly, of course, with the atmosphere you once had around you as cheering Prince Pils. I can well imagine that you, like everyone else, feel the need to physically let loose on music now and then, but why not dance (even in public) to something else?

Therefore, for inspiration, some music tips from that very large pantry of music out there.

Be sure to check that there really isn't anyone sneaking up on you, because apart from eating highlifes in the photo, caged dancing tall trees can also be quite embarrassing, and then go wild on Nirvana. I once did this just before my first final recorder exam at the Royal Conservatory. Never played so well and still an effective remedy for expected nerves. Zapp 4 took the band through the quirky zapp4 filter, hear but.

Something completely different? Go crazy to music you can soon attend live at festival Music Meeting. With the following Portuguese musicians (L.U.M.E), my thoughts are then with a dear Portuguese friend. What memory springs to mind?

Music in a performance in which you might recognise a little more of your wife's spontaneity: l'Arpeggiata with a Venezuelan song. May I make a small suggestion: also take care of the fringes and prepare something tasty (my last salad was something simple from Ottolenghi). After dessert of strawberries with chocolate topping, turn up the music to lose some calories while dancing with your wife.

Then take a rest and set your insides in motion by this lady's voice: Mahsa Vahdat. Personally, I see and feel all kinds of things with her voice: go from deep darkness to higher realms and everything in between. And should her voice not grab you, you can use her commitment to Freemuse I think I can appreciate.

Hopefully you will find some time to let me know what the music has done to you? My thanks are great.

By the way, if after summer you would like to listen to all kinds of music with some text, explanation and personal musings? Feel free to visit my new listening studio!

PS I only very recently found info on King's Day concert 2016 With the guitar as a common thread. I am curious and look forward to your reaction on the spot
