The annual Inktspot battle will take place on Saturday 6 March from 2.45pm. The battle, which can normally be followed at Concordia in the Inktspot exhibition, will, like last year, take place from the participating political cartoonists' own drawing tables and live will be broadcast via Concordia's website.
As an online visitor, you watch as the participating cartoonists translate a topical subject into cartoons. An expert jury will designate a winner at the end of the battle.
This edition's participating illustrators are: marcjanjanssen (Marc-Jan Janssen), Danibal (Daniel Hentschel), Neetje (Renée van den Kerkhof), KIK (Benjamin Kikkert), Loko (Lodewijk Koster), RGvT / Fokke & Sukke (Jean-Marc van Tol), Lex Dirkse, Maarten Wolterink, Moshe Gilula and Hard Paper (Rob de Jong).
This year, Concordia has once again secured an expert jury. It consists of Roy de Witte, member of the Overijssel provincial executive, and Henk ten Harkel, editor-in-chief/project leader journalism at 1Twente and applied arts entrepreneur. Actor, writer and satirist Owen Schumacher joins the jury as the third member. He was also a jury member for the Inktspot Prize 19/20, whose cartoons are included in the current exhibition. The outcome of the battle is expected around 4.30pm. Presenting the afternoon is theatre-maker/actress Evelien Harberink.
