The Bosch Parade will start on Thursday 20 June: the theatrical and musical art spectacle on the Dommel river. For three days, the public can experience a procession of sixteen floating, paddling and swimming works of art from the banks, right in the middle of the historical centre of 's-Hertogenbosch. The tenth edition is dedicated to our contemporary demons.
Fantasy, absurdities and wonder
Bosch Parade 2024 is the tenth edition of the floating art event in the heart of 's-Hertogenbosch. An impressive spectacle that amazes, touches and connects. Like previous editions, visual artists, directors and choreographers from the Netherlands and abroad will pay tribute to Hieronymus Bosch (1450-1516). In this new, fascinating 'cruise of the incongruous', 16 quirky and colourful art objects full of fantasies and absurdities will be shown to thousands of spectators.
THE PROGRAM
Extraordinary creations depict contemporary demons
With sixteen floating, bobbing and wading creations, renowned and budding artists depict the theme of this edition: modern-day demons. Algorithms, data, news reports and social media, hackers and trackers and influencers rattle like menacing pests at the gates of our existence. What do we have to fear from these tormentors? Do we turn them away, or do we surrender?
With (moving) objects, theatre, dance and music, the artists transcend their own disciplines. To do so, the artists collaborate with all kinds of organisations and people, in studios and workshops worldwide, creating extraordinary works. This creates a unique event that allows audiences to look differently at the modern world around them with the timeless creativity and imagination of Hieronymus Bosch.

Garden of Delights: summer outdoor workshop
Part of Bosch Parade is the Garden of Delights: the summer open-air studio on the waterfront near the Citadel, the medieval fortress in downtown Bossche. From 23 May to 23 June, you can see and meet artists at work in this hotbed. Like Curaçao artists David Bade and Tirzo Martha who - together with dozens of volunteers and artists and students from Curaçao and the Netherlands - are completing their impressive gesamtkunstwerk. The Garden of Delights is also a great place to enjoy one of the sunny terraces and pop-up restaurant La Cucina del Diavolo.
Art and spectacle for all
Bosch Parade and the Garden of Delights are open to young and old alike free of charge. Along almost the entire route, you can take a seat on one of the bridges, ramparts or green banks to see the special works of art. The route is within walking distance of Central Station, and there is ample parking in the area. Bosch Parade is therefore great to combine with a day in 's-Hertogenbosch.
