Death Grips is 20 min of breathtaking frenzy

The experimental hip-hop / noise band Death Grips plays frothy twang noise. But very exciting, interesting branch noise with paranoid, surreal lyrics. Live, it was a breath of fresh air. In their concert in Bittersweet (presented by Paradiso), vocalist MC Ride (Stefan Burnett) and drummer Zach Hill unleash a 20-minute hurricane of breathtaking fury.

'FATFORM is fat enough for all free radicals'

Two years ago, a couple of artists from collective FUCK and production company Vinger.nl annexed the roof of Kraaiennest shopping centre in Amsterdam Southeast, and stomped FATFORM out of the ground. An elusive art project, rooftop party and free state. Now they have moved up a hundred metres.

Sandwiched between the drab, modernist Bijlmer flats, megalomaniac high-rise and new buildings, the Djame Masdjied Taibah mosque, vacant shopping malls and underground station Crow's Nest houses the new incarnation of...

Pollesch and Hinrichs turn opening night The Choice into a theatrical philosophical happening #The International Choice

For the opening night of The International Choice, the Rotterdam Schouwburg was briefly transformed into Berlin's Volksbühne. Those beanbags, by the way, are widely despised and mocked in Berlin. They should...

The Dodo revives for Holland Festival edition 2011 #HF11

This week the Holland Festival erupts and we are there. We are producing a Dodo Festival Day newspaper with a sizeable team of professional journalists, as we did before for Springdance and The International Choice of the Rotterdam Schouwburg, for example. We follow the festival closely to bring news as it happens. We go to see performances where others...

You won't believe with your eyes what you hear with your ears with drum machine Savion Glover

Tap dancer Savion Glover. Photo: Savion Glover Productions "I don't care about the body, I make music," Savion Glover said last night, leaning against the doorframe of his dressing room after the performance Bare Soundz. The dance audience at Utrecht's Stadsschouwburg theatre was struggling to master the mores of a jazz audience. As the concert progressed, it produced increasingly encouraging...
