'Marco Goecke fired from State Opera Hannover'

The Hannoversche Allgemeine, a local Hanover newspaper, has just announced that Marco Goecke, the dog-eared top choreographer, has probably already been fired by the prestigious Hannover Staatsoper company. In an announcement on T-Online website reads: 'The resignation of Hanover's ballet director Marco Goecke from the Hanover State Theatre may already be a done deal. According to the Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung (HAZ) newspaper, Goecke will not stay on at the State Opera and the separation will be announced as early as Thursday. A State Theatre spokeswoman would not confirm the "HAZ's" information when asked by t-online."

The site further reports, "Earlier, the Lower Saxony Culture Ministry had announced at the state press conference Wednesday morning that a decision on the future of Goecke would be taken this week. The ministry is in close contact with the state theatre. In addition, Culture Minister Falko Mohrs (SPD) was to call the concerned journalist of the "FAZ", Wiebke Hüster, on Wednesday."

Never going to theatre again

The latter, the victim of Goecke's assault, had already said he would never set foot in the Hanover theatre again as long as Goecke was still there.

Goecke himself, meanwhile, had expressed himself even more violently on Instagram about the journalist and anyone who stood up for her. In now-deleted posts (screenshots in our possession), he called journalists Nazis and, in response to a warning that such a thing could cost him his career, stated: I have more than enough money."

He may need that soon, although the Nederlands Dans Theater, where he is associate choreographer, today announced expressed full support To the critic abuser.
