That could well be a big event next weekend

We are not big on copying press releases directly, but this one accidentally slipped in. For those who didn't already know, but tout art goes loosely Sunday and Monday for the preservation of sanity in the Netherlands. Although that will have no effect on the architect of the cut, PVV leader Martin Bosma. Even the cultural sector in Limburg (Geert Wilders' own heartland) is now experiencing this first-hand. Follows the press release here.

On Sunday, June 26, artists occupy Museum Boijmans van Beuningen in Rotterdam. After the occupation, 'the March of Civilisation' marches to The Hague in a night march. Everyone is urged to walk along. Artists and audience of location theatre festival Oerol kick off this March on Terschelling as early as Friday 24 June. The protests will reach their boiling point on Monday 27 June at Malieveld and the Courtyard.

Renowned artists including Pierre Audi, Ann DeMeester, Ivo van Hove, Conny Janssen, Joost Conijn and Ramsey Nasr and politicians including Job Cohen, Emile Roemer and Boris van der Ham attend demonstrations and speak out against the irresponsible cuts to culture.

>The organisers call on all concerned Dutch people to join, because this cabinet has contempt for the future. Short-term profiteering ultimately causes great damage, not only to the arts, but also to healthcare, education and the environment. It is time to draw a line together.
