For the past week or two, the word de-collect has been in my head.

An Amsterdam politician proposed selling Roy Lichtenstein's As I opened Fire. Estimated proceeds: 40 to 50 million. With that money, Amsterdam's art sector could be saved and, if there was some left over, work by new artists could also be bought.
