In 2021, de Stilte achieved the most international playtimes of any Dutch performing arts company. With no fewer than 73 dance performances, de Stilte sparked the imagination of children in France, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, Italy, Poland.

About the list

DutchCulture compiles an annual list listing all international activities of Dutch theatre companies. From 2011, dance company de Stilte has already topped the list with the highest number of international playtimes as a dance company. In 2021, the company even achieved the most international playtimes of the entire theatre sector. Le Grand Cru and Theater Rotterdam are second and third on the list with 57 and 51 activities respectively. The entire list can be found on the DutchCulture website .

Corona

de Stilte presented performances abroad throughout the year by responding to local measures. For instance, de Stilte presented performances in France while a lockdown was in effect in the Netherlands. Where physical performances were not possible due to corona restrictions, de Stilte presented its performances online at the Istanbul Theatre Festival in Turkey and the Kurbas Technologies festival in Ukraine.

New theatre season

In the upcoming theatre season, which starts in September, the Silence again has many international plays scheduled in Belgium, France, Luxembourg, Austria, Italy and the UK, among others. the Silence hopes that potential measures in the autumn will not result in customisation for international activities as was the case previously.
