Delft Fringe Festival receives positive recommendation for policy period 2025 - 2028 by Fonds Podiumkunsten
Delft, Thursday, July 4, 2024 - On Wednesday 3 July, the opinions of the Council for Culture and the State Culture Funds were published. Delft Fringe Festival received a positive advice for the policy period 2025 - 2028 by Fonds Podiumkunsten. This means a four-year grant award. Roel Funcken, festival director: "We are happy and delighted that Fonds Podiumkunsten includes us as one of six new festivals in their multi-year scheme. Thanks to this support, we can build on our mission and objectives even more solidly, continuing to give ample space to a new generation of makers.“
From the advisory report: "The committee finds that Delft Fringe Festival describes a clear artistic vision. In it, the festival clearly focuses on the professional development of new creators in various performing arts forms."
Wider pool of new talent
Tamara Griffioen, artistic director Delft Fringe Festival: "As a festival, we have been open to new genres within the arts for a long time, and will therefore be giving space in the coming period to makers who choose art styles that cannot be studied at an art school, such as drag, ballroom or spoken word. We thus offer a stage to both graduates and self-taught makers. We are putting even more effort into recruiting a wider group of new talent and demand-driven guidance for makers."
About the award by Fonds Podiumkunsten
"With the multi-year festival grants, the Performing Arts Fund supports festivals that are connected to their surroundings and contribute to the development of the performing arts climate in their area. Often these festivals also look further afield from firm roots, beyond the borders of their municipality and region and across national borders." Source: Performing arts fund
