Theatre Festival Boulevard, which takes place from Thursday 7 to Sunday 17 August, has announced its programming. The 41st edition, for which ticket sales have started, includes about 125 different theatre and dance performances, concerts and workshops by makers from home and abroad. Boulevard descends on 14 locations in and around Den Bosch, including seven uncommon places. The Parade is the familiar festival heart.
In community of wonder

'In community of wonder' is the motto of Boulevard 2025. Amazement as a radical choice to keep yourself open. In encounters, in looking at the world, even at what is difficult. We see theatre as an excellent place to exercise this receptivity. With stories, with the courage to let ourselves be touched.
Boulevard Magazine online only
This is the first year we are not publishing a paper festival magazine, only a digital version. The consideration is twofold. A paper edition is no longer compatible with our sustainability policy. Printing requires a lot of paper, ink and transport. But money also plays a role. We prefer printing costs to magazines. Rest assured: in the online magazine, too, you will find many interviews, reports, background stories and reviews.
New home for street culture
Steamingly busy last year at Tent Purple, the venue on the Parade where street culture and hip-hop were given free rein. Yet there was a side note. The tent has a traditional stage, which sometimes hindered interaction with the audience. That disadvantage is a thing of the past: Commissioned by Boulevard, scenographer and spatial designer Eddy van der Laan designed a new stage for Tent Purple. The result is a striking pavilion with several layers and a panoramic deck. Eddy van der Laan: "The idea of having your own urban pop-up theatre for over a hundred people is grand and therefore very un-Dutch. It has international allure to want to design and build a stage specifically to showcase street art and culture and celebrate diversity." Tent Purple's programming came about in collaboration with Cypher HQ and Arjuna Vermeulen from Den Bosch.

I MAKE ME, a new meeting place
If you are between the ages of two and 10, come Boulevard you can have your childhood heart set on I MAKE ME. Under that banner, Boulevard offers an Open Stage, playhouses by Stadshout, children's workshops by festival makers, a Sprout Route and a sandbox-with-roof. Location: the east side of the Parade. It is also the starting point for visiting the many family performances.

All the new developments would not have been possible without the support of our partners, funds and the Boulevard Friends. We were able to develop the new Tent Purple and IK MAAK MEE with support from Brabant C x ASML.
Trusted
The 41st festival edition also features an extensive free programme. This includes the daily musical closing at 11 p.m., performed by various bands. Of course, Boulevard has facilities for people with visual, hearing, cognitive, mental or mobile disabilities. Furthermore, the festival offers a range of restaurants, food trucks, terraces and special bars. Artist Rogier Roeters from Den Bosch created the artwork for the campaign.
