Enjoy the future of performing arts with personalised performances throughout the city

Delft, Monday, March 31 - From 27 May to 8 June, you can experience Delft Fringe Festival at 30 venues across the city - from historic gems to the raucous Cable District. For nine days, Delft is dedicated to performing arts such as cabaret, dance, family theatre, kleinkunst, music and everything in between. Delft Fringe Festival is taking place for the fourteenth time. This year, 28 makers have been selected from 375 applications and as many as 15 performances will premiere at the festival. Online ticket sales start on Saturday 12 April.

There is also plenty to do in the context programme. Fringe Talks explore current themes in the programme such as inclusivity and put the makers in the spotlight. In Fringe Tours, special tour guides like comedienne Fleur Overgaag and musician Ronald Snijders take you along the most special performances and locations. New this year are the Canal Tours with dinner that allow you to discover and experience the festival in a completely different way.

Makers of the future make you think

This new generation of makers aims to make audiences think and give an important message. The themes in their work often stem from very personal experiences or social necessity. Besides climate, loneliness and the need to connect with others in family and friendship, we also see the search for identity and dealing with grief and loss.

Several performances address mortality in a light-hearted way. In the dance performanceThe Impossible Astronaut Astrid Rosemary Klein Haneveld takes you on a space journey full of grief and science fiction, in search of her late father. Albert Meijer brings in musical cabaret Tufts the story of Tim, whose death causes a battle between his friends and family. Theatre collective Dystopia - winner of the Delft Fringe Audience Award in 2024 - will go into TIME SOON in search of meaning in a world where death is no longer taken for granted.

Cable District

Delft Fringe Festival not only looks to the future for talented makers, we also like to discover new places in the city for the festival. This year, for the first time, performances can be seen in the Cable District, a raw place full of developments just outside the city centre. A perfect match, because Fringe literally means frayed edge! In this area where a new residential area will soon be rising, a hub will be bustling this year with performances at Bouldercentrum Delfts Bleau, HAL015, KD-Buitentent, KD-Lab and Loft Studio.

Open Studios

On Saturday 12 April from 4pm to 5pm, everyone is welcome to attend the Open Studios at Theatre de Veste in Delft for an exclusive look behind the scenes! This afternoon, there will be a sneak preview of no less than three performances to be seen at this year's festival. David Heijmans, Femke Lucia and Lilian Kafa will tell something about their performance and take the audience through their creative process. Don't miss this unique opportunity to discover everything that goes on behind the scenes.
