Theatre Baaaard is a visual and humorous performance about doubt. Always we want answers to all questions. But sometimes, isn't it actually fun and exciting to doubt? After all, the world is a strange place!
Did you just learn that birds have wings to fly, turns out there are also birds that cannot fly. The rules keep changing in your life. How do you find your way in them? Confusion breeds doubt, but that also makes you invent, do something and have fun. The theatre performance Baaaard is an ode to searching and discovery, about the fantasy that starts when not everything is clear yet.
Hipsters, lumberjacks, magicians, Father Christmas, the woman with the beard and pirates: in Baaaard, a wild parade of beard archetypes passes by, where anything goes. A text-free performance that capitalises on everyone's wonder and curiosity about what's behind those beards.
An ever-growing beard on stage opens up worlds that keep changing. In Baaaard, bearded people move through all kinds of recognisable and illogical situations. Just when the bearded people think they understand the world around them, everything is upended and they have to start all over again. Curious, they take a journey through all kinds of colourful, sometimes incomprehensible, but always fascinating bearded worlds.
The performance Baaaard is created by Milan Boele van Hensbroek, who previously made Blablablaf with STIP, a philosophical, theatrical installation in which children can share their thoughts with a little dog.
