In the podcast The art of leadership By Anne-Marie Kremer (CultureDesign), cultural leaders such as Anne Breure, Mouna Laroussi, Marc Vlemmix and Lot Vekemans talk candidly about the crises they experienced, what it did to them personally and what they made of it literally and figuratively.
The talks give an interesting insight into working and leading in the cultural sector and dealing with impactful events such as illness, bankruptcy, death, identity crises and burnout.
REFLECTION
The podcast creates space for reflection. Insights are created by taking a moment to reflect on what the crisis has cost and what development it has brought. This not only applies to the guests, listeners are also made to think and inspired.
We do this too little in the cultural sector: making time for reflection. We know it's necessary. We have also sometimes experienced that it is pleasant. We are aware that stepping back and taking a breath can be decisive for the future of the work and the organisation.
But we don't. The full agenda, external pressures, lack of people and resources. We know the reasons. And if we are honest, we are also a bit addicted to running on and being needed. And maybe we also look forward to awkward conversations that might ensue?
