Delft Fringe Festival (27 May - 7 June 2026) is one of the most important and largest theatre festivals for young creators in the Netherlands. They get the chance to perform their show several times, close to the audience, at historical and unconventional locations through the inner city of Delft.

Mother myth by Juliette de Groot

This year, ten of the 23 selected performances are on a stage for the first time. From absurdist percussion to interactive escape room theatre, from family performances to intimate musical theatre, the premieres showcase the breadth and guts of a new generation of creators.

Julian Gypens: Big Backstory 19h | Cornelius Musius School

Debut performance by Belgian artist Julian Gypens, combining stand-up comedy and contemporary dance. Big Backstory explores the amusing and vulnerable reality of living in a body that has no ass on a social and scientific level.

Tommy Zonneveld: Golden Boy 20h | ARTJacobs gallery

An energetic comedy performance in which Tommy Zonneveld dives into themes of attachment and responsibility with sharp humour. Frankly, he tells his own story and asks the tantalising question: should we have children if we have not yet faced our own pain?

Enterteunment: ESCAPE, ME 19h | NP50, New Plantation 50

An interactive escape room performance in which the audience controls the performer via a live chat room. Work together, solve puzzles and achieve ultimate freedom - or do you?

Josephine & Mara Linde: Rock ‘n Scroll 19h | Cigar Factory

During two colleagues' regular lunch at the copy room, the devices around them go haywire. In a grand, visual battle, any attempt at human contact is interrupted by something vibrating, pinging or lighting up. Who controls whom?

Mo & Juul: The hen harrier 13h | Cornelius Musius School

Look around you. See how everything has a home? The humans, the birds. But what if your home disappears? Where will you go then? The hen harrier is an interactive children's show about love of nature.

Nikki Ong: The little friendly vegan 13h| Market 83

A vegan immerses herself in pig farming for a year. In this monologue, she examines her prejudices and looks for ways to question the system together rather than criticise each other.

NEWSWIRE: The hurricane of number 133 14h | Stadsboerderij Rietveld

A comic ode to stumbling, getting up and moving on for everyone aged 6 and up. With music, slapstick and alienating images, NEUSWIJS shows: making mistakes is not scary, but the beginning of something new.

Baue Kunstman: Spinsels 19h | Anne & Max Delft

How does it feel to lose your mind? Baue Kunstman uses the versatility of modern percussion to get to the bottom of that. The result is an absurdist percussion monologue about mental deterioration.

Mystha Mandersloot: Mother myth 20h | Stadsboerderij Rietveld

Five mothers explore through personal stories what motherhood means in a world full of expectations. Together, they dance, sing and shake off the norm. A multi-voiced musical theatre performance.

Tim Vervenne: Junkyard 20h | Cigar Factory

Tim quits. With smoking, gaming, gambling, snacking. His body protests, his mind bargains. Junkyard is a performance about permanent restlessness and the storm you have to go through to reach silence.
