AMSTERDAM, 13 October 2026 – To mark its centenary, the Amsterdam Museum commissioned the renowned photographer Robin de Puy to photograph one hundred Amsterdammers. The result: a powerful series of portraits that online can be seen and, from this afternoon, will also be on display for several months on the 70-metre-long temporary hoarding on the Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal.
Among others, entrepreneur Oos Kesbeke, visual artist Bruin Parry, fashion designer Tess van Zalinge, TV personality Humberto Tan, Rabbi Lody van de Kamp, politician Hedy D’Ancona and tattoo artist Henk Schiffmacher were photographed by De Puy.
Heske ten Cate (curator at the Amsterdam Museum): ‘In her portraits, Robin de Puy brings the 100 Amsterdammers to life, each with their own story and place in the city. Through her lens, a portrait of Amsterdam emerges: unique, connected and constantly evolving.’The series of portraits will be on display over the coming months on the hoarding on the Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal.
