Jowi Schmitz schrijft (kinder)boeken, artikelen, filmscripts en korte verhalen. Haar YA boek Weg won de Dioraphte Literatuur prijs oftewel prijs voor beste Jongerenboek van het jaar, haar kinderboek Ik heet Olivia en daar kan ik ook niks aan doen (Lemniscaat) wordt binnenkort verfilmd. Ze schrijft graag interdisciplinair: tussen feit en fictie. Maar dan echt.
