ZID Theatre creates multidisciplinary performances with very diverse talents, while also being
a stage for these performances and for productions by other like-minded creators. We
have therefore decided to open our doors for the second time to the national
National Theatre Weekend.

What can you see at ZID?

On Friday 26 January (8pm): the premiere of two performances: Circles by Issam Zemmouri
and Zaher Hamzat and Not Only One by Nivin Baranbo. A dynamic double bill with dance and
theatre, in which creators connect their tradition and their future.

On Saturday 27 January (8pm): the location performance Re-Dreams, in which we will bring the audience
take you on a sensory journey through various spaces of Breeding Place Construction, for unexpected
encounters and dynamic scenes from a large cast of actors and dancers.

On Sunday 28 January (5pm): the collage performance Roots & Wings, which consists of 6 scenes
of 10 minutes each; created and performed by six young performers, three of whom are from the Netherlands and
three from Belgium, in collaboration with Madam Fortuna from Antwerp. On an interpretation of its own
of the Roots & Wings theme.

National Theatre Weekend is a major, nationwide event. ZID participates in it to promote the
drawing attention to the importance of being right here, on the outskirts of Amsterdam in the
Kolenkit neighbourhood, offering artistic productions.

"Accessible spaces for arts and culture, like in Broedplaats Bouw, where we are located,
are vibrant places where everyone is welcome," said ZID's Karolina Spaić. The multidisciplinary
performances by ZID are physical and associative, with actors, dancers and musicians from
different cultural backgrounds and gender.

Spaić: "Diversity is in our DNA, because ZID is a place where young artists and all other
generations belonging to a diverse and international climate, come together. We would like
people who do not yet know us come to one of the performances, so that they too can experience
What our creators, guests and audiences often say: ZID Theatre makes me feel at home."
Each performance is framed by a fringe programme where there is an opportunity to meet the makers
meet and engage with them. Walk-in is half an hour prior to the start of the
performances.
