It came as a shock that still hasn't quite worked out. Haf September, dozens of art institutions received a letter from the State Secretary of Culture, informing them that they could start using the subsidy they thought they would get for projects until 31 December 2012 for redundancy procedures, selling real estate at a loss and staff lawsuits against their necessarily harsh policies. In doing so, Zijlstra is forcing these institutions to violate agreements they previously made with the ministry. We reported on this in detail.
Zijlstra has since answered the parliamentary questions and what we predicted is true: the chamber took a nap during the discussion of the letter on 27 June. Had they raised the alarm then, something might still have been done. Now the chamber is faced with a fait accompli. This is what 'own fault, own fault' looks like in Zijlstrataal:
'The House was informed about this in the letter More than Quality (House of Representatives, session year 2010-2011, 32 820, no. 1), which was discussed with your House on 27 June: "Incidentally, agreements can also be reached with these institutions, if so desired, to use the subsidy for the remainder of the 2009-2012 period for a gradual reduction of their subsidised activities. In this way, friction costs after 2012 can be avoided, or reduced as much as possible." Also in my letter of 25 August (House of Representatives, session year 2010-2011, 32 820, no. 42), I informed your House that these institutions would be notified in September. '

Which perhaps proves that the NL gedoogkabinet consists not only of CDA,VVD,PVV, but perhaps then also of the entire opposition.... (well, opposition...)..... this will make voting difficult later.... anyone a tip on who?
